The launch of our Kickstarter crowdfund campaign is imminent. There are just a few more tasks to perform.
A Video That Conveys the Urgency of the Challenge
There is an unfortunate tendency to confuse the absence of evidence of crime with the absence of crime. This is a bad mistake; criminals generally hope to avoid detection. Our campaign video will draw upon footage of actual raids conducted by police around the world to highlight both the urgency and the interconnectedness of networked crime.
A New Homepage for Commsrisk
If the campaign is successful, new charts will be added to the dashboard every week. A new homepage for Commsrisk will draw visitors to the dashboard with a dedicated column that prominently features new graphs.
Public Holidays
The amount of traffic received by Commsrisk can be significantly affected by public holidays. As a consequence we need to be mindful of finding a 60-day window for the campaign that will not be adversely impacted by the timing of holidays worldwide.
A Wishlist
With so much work going into the campaign, we have not had the time to illustrate more of the dashboard’s potential. Research has begun for new charts we want to add to the dashboard, but we hope donors will engage with the campaign by telling us about other data sources that can be mined, especially when the data is communicated in the native language of countries that have not yet been covered.
